What should I do with my old American Girl dolls?
When I was younger, my mom and I collected American Girl dolls. Right now in my closet I have 3 dolls, multiple furniture sets, 20+ outfits, and loads of accessories and books, all in good condition. My parents are relocating to another town soon and are wondering what I want to do with my collection. It may sound silly, but I always imagined passing this stuff on to my daughter (if/when I have one), so I would have to store the stuff for years. Another option is to sell them on eBay, but there is a definite sentimental attachment. I don't have any younger relatives to pass the dolls on to.

I would sell them on E-bay. If they are original dolls in mint condition with loads of accessories, then you can fetch a pretty penny for them on E-bay. If you do want to hang on to them for future use, or for a child to play with them in the future, then I recommend that you go to Walmart and get acid free boxes (the kind that are used to store photographs), they can also be purchased at The Container Store. Get one box for each doll, and extra boxes for the books and accessories. Put the items in these boxes first, then put these boxes (which are usually made of heavy weight cardboard) inside of plastic storage containers that do not have holes in them, so that the dolls will be well protected for future generations.
There is nothing silly about wanting to pass on toys that you love to your own child some day. If your own daughter decides that she doesn't want the toys, there is always the ability to E-bay them later on, and with something like American Girl Dolls, you will probably fetch an even higher price tag!
