What can be the building inspector of corruption?
We just moved into a new house and I am sure that the building inspector "closed their eyes to the other" on certain issues in our house. I have no hard evidence, the common sense. There are two main security problems, one of which amounts to 10 holes of concrete surface soil in our yard. (In fact, it is an outside staircase that runs parallel to an exterior wall. No ramp to prevent anyone from just walking on the lawn on the side of the stairwell. We get a ramp installed at the height of $ 1,000.) The other is a laundry chute is simply a hole in the floor behind a closet door. Again, a security issue that we addressed. I have 2 young children and Angers me that our builder was probably involved in a pay inspector in order to save money himself, risking the lives of my children. Ideas?
know what the real building codes are and go from this point of view. You may be able to sue the contractor or file a complaint about the BBB contractor. You may not be able to do anything that the building inspector. Remember, you may need a helped build a day build a shed or a gazebo or something.
